Olympics Should Learn From Wimbledon Example

Maybe it’s because I’m not British, so not as pessimistic as some of the locals, but I think the upcoming London Olympics will be an awesome event. I look at it as a great, once-in-a-lifetime experience to be a part of. Because, unless you move around as much as ‘The Littlest Hobo’, chances are having the Olympics staged in the city in which you live is pretty much literally a once-in-a-lifetime event. Unlike Jamie Redknapp I do know the meaning of the word literally (note Jamie, it’s liter-a-lee, not lit-tra-lee) and true, the Olympics were held in London in 1948 so there are likely people who will live through both (and why I prefaced it with “pretty much”), but to have the Olympics in your city and be of an age where you can really feel part of the event and really take advantage, is literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
